Latest class at Kihikihi, way out in the country at Kathy's beautiful studio
Denise showing her almost completed Nina Euphemia in all her glorious brights
Jules with her Nina not quite finished but standing up nicely with her toes pointed !
This is Fleur la Francaise - an amazing little creation. I was very generously sent some antique hand embroidered panels from England via France - they broke my heart with the tiniest stitches on flimsy cotton voiles - I imagine they were intended for inserts in ladies blouses circa 1942 - to remain a mystery - they are now Fleurs extravagant skirt.....
Fleur la Francaise in all her blonde Amy Winehouse glory.
Keep this gorgeous gal a secret for another week!!! I've just made this doll for my daughter Rachael's birthday. She will be 42 and about a year ago said...I haven't had a doll for a long time....well, that's enough to kick start a Mother!!! Beautiful shades of soft browns and coppers, rust red velvet boots, holding a little heart, and little flash of soft teal blue. Wonderful combo.
Easter Workshop
Three happy dollmakers, Shirley, Kathy and Shona - there's me second from right - having just completed a two day workshop in my studio, here in Coromandel at Easter. Kathy brought a Cake That Would Kill!! Two blocks of rich dark chocolate was part of the ingredients - but look at the close-up of the dolls completed - a future requirement!
